Faculty members from the Departments of Civil Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE), and Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at Stamford University Bangladesh participated in the BAETE National Symposium 2026, held at the InterContinental Dhaka on Sunday.
The symposium, themed “Role of Policy Support for Ensuring Quality Engineering Education through Accreditation,” brought attention to the importance of accreditation, institutional commitment, and policy support in advancing engineering education in Bangladesh.
The event highlighted several key aspects of quality engineering education, including Outcome-Based Education (OBE), graduate competencies, continuous quality improvement, and international accreditation standards.
Discussions emphasized that quality engineering education extends beyond curriculum delivery and accreditation requirements, focusing on developing technically competent, ethical, innovative, and socially responsible engineers capable of addressing emerging challenges.
The participation of Stamford University Bangladesh faculty members underscored the institution’s commitment to academic excellence, continuous improvement, and the advancement of engineering education in line with international standards.
The symposium also reinforced the importance of collaboration among universities, accreditation bodies, and policymakers in strengthening engineering education and preparing graduates for the evolving demands of the global workforce.
Quality engineering education remains essential to ensuring public safety, promoting sustainable development, and supporting Bangladesh’s long-term national progress.
