The Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Stamford University Bangladesh successfully organized a three-day workshop titled “BAC Application Preparation (Round-1)” from June 7 to June 9, 2026, at the Conference Room of the university’s Siddeswari Campus, Dhaka. Conducted daily from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, the workshop aimed to strengthen institutional preparedness for accreditation by the Bangladesh Accreditation Council (BAC) and to enhance participants’ understanding of quality assurance practices in higher education.
The workshop covered a wide range of important topics, including quality assurance, accreditation frameworks, the BAC accreditation process, accreditation standards and criteria, self-assessment, external quality assessment, and effective strategies for preparing BAC applications. The sessions were designed to provide participants with both conceptual knowledge and practical guidance necessary for successful accreditation preparation.
The workshop sessions were facilitated by Prof. Dr. Sharif Nafe As-Saber, Vice Chancellor of Stamford University Bangladesh; M. Azizul Haque, Director, IQAC; and Subrata Chowdhury, Additional Director (QA), IQAC. The facilitators presented the BAC application structure, documentation requirements, and evaluation procedures in a clear and practical manner, emphasizing strategic planning, evidence-based reporting, and institutional quality enhancement. Their presentations enabled participants to gain a comprehensive understanding of both the academic and administrative dimensions of the accreditation process.
A total of 25 faculty members, including 15 members of the Program Self-Assessment Committee (PSAC), actively participated in the workshop. The participants represented five academic departments: the Department of Civil Engineering, the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, the Department of English, the Department of Environmental Science, and the Department of Pharmacy. The presence of faculty leaders and quality assurance representatives facilitated meaningful discussions and ensured that the deliberations remained closely aligned with departmental responsibilities and institutional priorities.
Throughout the workshop, special emphasis was placed on systematic documentation, maintaining reliable evidence, and ensuring consistency in academic and administrative practices in accordance with BAC requirements. Participants engaged in interactive discussions on common challenges encountered during accreditation preparation and explored practical approaches to addressing these challenges through coordinated planning, effective record-keeping, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
An interactive presentation session was also organized, where participants shared their experiences, concerns, and challenges related to BAC accreditation preparation. The open exchange of ideas provided an opportunity for participants to seek clarification on various aspects of the accreditation process and contributed to strengthening coordination between departmental teams and PSAC committees. The discussions fostered a collective sense of responsibility and readiness toward achieving accreditation goals.
The closing session and certificate distribution ceremony was graced by the presence of Prof. Dr. Sharif Nafe As-Saber, Vice Chancellor of Stamford University Bangladesh, as the Chief Guest.
