Stamford University Bangladesh Holds Convocation 2025: Advisor Dr Salehuddin Ahmed Praises the University’s Role in Expanding Higher Education

Stamford University Bangladesh held its Convocation 2025 on Saturday (22 November 2025) at 11:00 AM at the Expo Village of the Bashundhara International Convention Centre, celebrating academic excellence and the achievements of its graduating class.

 

Speaking as the Chief Guest, Dr Salehuddin Ahmed, Adviser to the Interim Government’s Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Planning, highly praised the university’s contribution to expanding higher education and nurturing the nation’s future leadership.

 

“This institution has been playing a significant role in shaping the country’s future leaders by ensuring the spread of higher education across generations,” he said.

 

The Convocation Speaker, Syeda Rizwana Hasan, Adviser on Environment, Forest and Climate Change, highlighted the importance of applying acquired knowledge with integrity and values in real-life challenges. She noted that convocation marks not an end, but a recognition of perseverance, intellectual pursuit, and the commitment to excellence.

 

“Convocation is a bridge between the academic world and the broader landscape of real-life responsibilities,” she said, urging graduates to uphold honesty, empathy, and innovative thinking.

 

In their congratulatory remarks, Professor Dr Farhanaaz Feroz, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees, and Professor Dr Younus Mia, Acting Vice Chancellor, extended their best wishes to the graduating students. The vote of thanks was delivered by Registrar Muhammad Abdul Matin.

 

This year, degrees were conferred upon 1,407 graduates from five faculties and 14 departments. In recognition of outstanding academic achievements, 10 graduates received the Chancellor’s Gold Medal, while 30 graduates were awarded the Vice Chancellor’s Gold Medal.

 

The ceremony was attended by members of the Board of Trustees, faculty members, intellectuals, senior officials from various government and private organisations, vice chancellors and governing body members from different universities, and representatives of the media.

 

The convocation concluded with captivating musical performances by Warfaze, Bengal Symphony, and current students of Stamford University Bangladesh, marking a vibrant end to the day’s festivities.
